Op dit moment zijn er geen kortdurende time-outplekken in de Noordoostpolder. Er worden nu jongeren buiten de Polder opgevangen. In deze situaties komt het ook voor dat een beroep wordt gedaan op specialistische zorg of zwaardere zorgtrajecten.

Als ChristenUnie-SGP gaat de situatie van deze jongeren aan ons hart. Iedere jongere behoort immers een plek te hebben binnen een gezinssituatie, ook als dit tijdelijk niet bij de (biologische) ouders kan. Het liefst binnen de sociale setting en de sociale omgeving waar de jongere is opgegroeid. Inzetten op time out plekken is dan een effectief preventiemiddel, om zwaardere trajecten te voorkomen.

In de raadsvergadering van 10 juli is een motie van CU-SGP met ruime meerderheid aangenomen om een pilot te starten om time-out plekken te bieden. Initiatiefnemer Anjo Simonse: "We hopen hiermee jongeren veiligheid te kunnen bieden in hun eigen omgeving, ook als dat alleen tijdelijk nodig is."
